The warp threads are made from bamboo rayon, which absorbs and releases sweat, preventing stuffiness and keeping you comfortable. The weft threads are made from cotton, and to enjoy the natural texture of cotton, a rustic yarn with a lot of fuzz is used.
Enshu textiles are characterized by their soft and gentle texture, and the honest expression of the material itself. The fabric making process using old-fashioned shuttle looms is still being passed down today, and the process of "slowly and carefully weaving," which has been handed down through generations, creates a natural fullness and comfortable feel without putting unnecessary stress on the yarn.
Because the machines are old, there are many detailed inspections and manual processes carried out by skilled craftsmen. While not as efficient as modern machines, this method produces a soft and rich texture that enhances the inherent qualities of the yarn.
