Enshu Tweed Overcoat

Enshu Tweed Overcoat
A plain weave tweed-like fabric made from a unique blend of wool and hemp yarn, developed in Enshu, one of Japan's leading cotton textile production regions, centered in the western part of Shizuoka Prefecture.
Using old-fashioned shuttle looms, which involve many manual processes and visual inspections by craftsmen, the fabric is created without putting unnecessary stress on the yarn, resulting in a natural fullness and a comfortable feel.
The patch pockets are made by joining together fabric scraps generated during the production process using sashiko stitching.
