The denim used is 100% woven in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, one of Japan's leading denim producing regions, which has developed based on the indigo dyeing and weaving techniques cultivated from the Edo to Meiji periods.
Differences in color, texture, and fabric width arise with each production lot. We purchase various scraps that reflect the production background of the time, process each piece individually, combine them, and reconstruct them into a jacket by hand, creating a one-of-a-kind item.
After finely stitching vertically once with true indigo dyed sashiko thread and connecting the pieces into a single fabric, natural sashiko thread is used to stitch the boundaries of each piece, finishing it with both reinforcement and decoration.
For the collar, we use denim woven in Fukuyama City as well, made with 7/1 twill with loosely twisted threads, giving it a plump texture and softness.
All sashiko is done by hand, and the traces of this handwork are strongly visible throughout, both on the front and back.
