Sashiko Denim Shorts

Made entirely from new denim remnants, including Japanese selvedge denim woven in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Remnants sourced from the textile region are arranged over the master pattern, then hand-stitched vertically into a single cloth using sashiko thread dyed with natural indigo through the traditional Tsugaru “Jigokudate” method. Each boundary is further stitched with unbleached cotton thread, reinforcing the cloth while defining its structure.
Every sashiko stitch is sewn by hand, leaving the marks of the making process visible on both the front and reverse. The shorts have generous side pockets and a dedicated smartphone pocket on the right side.
Made-to-order details
This piece is made after an order consultation. The displayed base price includes the master pattern, standard sashiko density, and adjustments to the waist and total length. Before production, we will discuss the size, color, and placement of the denim remnants. Major pattern changes, additional sashiko or handwork, and special materials or treatments will be quoted separately.
The final price and lead time will be confirmed after the remnant composition, stitch density, and specifications are agreed.
Repairs are available after purchase following an assessment of the damaged area.
